Johny Gross | Head of English Desk
An introduction to Johny Gross, Head of the English Desk at Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (UMTB).
I was born in Edgware in 1966 to a very Zionistic family and spent my formative years in different jewish educational establishments.
I was very involved in youth movements and this together with my family, influenced my love for Israel and directed me on the path of making Israel my permanent home at the beginning of the 90's.
Prior to making aliya I completed a first degree in Business in London and also served in Israeli army doing my compulsory service there. I also completed a Masters degree in Business from Boston and Beer Sheva Universities.
With a few months of moving to Israel I met my wife, Dalia and after spending our first few years in Jerusalem we moved to the up and coming community of Bet Shemesh.
In the last twenty years this area has been very popular amongst new immigrants and all around the city "Anglo " communities have sprouted up. We have been blessed with eight children.
I have always been interested in the field of banking and during my 23 years of work experience I have represented a number of Israeli Banks.
Having been an employee of the different banks, I have had the opportunity to examine their different leadership styles and investment policies.
I am delighted to be working for Mizrahi Tefahot Bank as I feel that whilst being a conservative bank and providing security for their customers they are both innovative and forward thinking.
I have been visiting England for the last six years on behalf of the Bank offering the Bank's investment and mortgages services. Coming from a similar cultural background has helped me understand the requirements of my customers and created an atmosphere of trust and professionalism.
